Best Cherokee/Jewish DNA Testing
This review is from: CHEROKEE DNA TEST
I would recommend DNA Consultants to anyone wanting to know about their Native American &/or Jewish Ancestry. DNA Consultants is the BEST DNA Company on the market for both!!!
With the release of our new database atDNA 10.4 you can now find out if you have a high match to either admixed or official enrolled Cherokees. The two reference populations called U.S. Cherokee Admixed (n = 62) and U.S. Cherokee Admixed (n=92) were created in house from a combination of participants in our Cherokee DNA Studies who traced their mother’s mitochondrial lineage to a Cherokee woman and a random sample of customers who indicated to us that they identified as Cherokee. Most excitingly, we added the first available tribal data with a new population called U.S. Cherokee Enrolled (n=33) in July 2018. For more information on the Cherokee people see our population page.
Your personal DNA profile is compared with our data for more than 60 American Indian populations from numerous countries in North, Central, and South America as well as Asia. In addition to Cherokee, possible matches include Apache, Navajo, Salishan, Inuit, Lumbee, Chukchi, Huichols and Canadian aboriginal tribes, representing a total of nearly 5,000 subjects who identified as Native American, American Indian, indigenous or aboriginal in forensic studies.
If you receive a positive match to one or more of the Cherokee populations your report will include a Cherokee Match Certificate. If you do not receive a high Cherokee match your report will include a Native American Certificate listing your other Native American matches, depending on your results. You may also order a quality color print of your certificate that is mailed to you.
Once you order we send you a sample collection kit the next day. Free shipping by First Class domestic mail, or pay for another method of your choice. Return your samples in the free Business Reply Envelope included in your kit.
This is a stand-alone product including a DNA test and can be ordered by itself. Once you receive your test results you may upgrade to the full product with the Premium Upgrade. To order the full product to start with, including other American Indian matches and markers, world and megapopulation results, an ancestry map and certificate, and your top countries of Europe, purchase a DNA Fingerprint Plus or Native American DNA Fingerprint Plus.

Disclaimer: This ancestry test is primarily for private knowledge. It is a forensic DNA test based in part on tribal American Indian data published in J. Ng et al, “Native American Population Data Based on the Globalfiler® Autosomal STR loci,” Forensic Science International: Genetics 24:e12-e13. While it is a chain-of custody test, it does not provide evidence accepted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs to claim membership. Your Native American ancestors may be very far removed generationally or their genes may be too weak to register statistically. Your results may or may not confirm expected ethnic composition, family history or tribal connections. Alone, no DNA ancestry test may be used to prove identity, biological relationships, nationality, citizenship, immigration or tribal enrollment.

I took the cherokee DNA test and found out that there wasn't a match for cherokee. My top 3 matches: (1) Saskatchewan, (2) Northern Ontario, (3) Northern Ontario First Nations Canada. I found out that my Mother's side has ojibway heritage. Thanks to DNA consultant who helped confirm this research.
I took this test and got a positive result and certificate. Does that mean I can claim to be Cherokee, or even a Cherokee descendant? NO! To quote the result: “U.S. Cherokee Admixed appears in your top world matches at rank #12. A related population, Native American-Michigan, is #2. It is thus HIGHLY LIKELY (emphasis mine) you have significant amounts of Cherokee ancestry.” Given the reality of intermarriage between nations, the match to a database of genealogically-defined Cherokee descendants and enrolled members means my ancestry could really go back to one of a dozen tribal nations. My genealogy documents descent from Croatoan/Cheraw/Lumbee individuals. This result validates my genealogy. I may find documented links to enrolled Cherokees in the future, or not. But the results have already helped me connect with individuals with the same surnames in two of the nations.
My husband is very ill, and age 60. He had always wanted to have proof of his Cherokee background, and DNA not only made this possible, but changed my husband's outlook on his entire life, at a time when nothing else had lifted his spirits. The people who work for this firm, are personal and caring and helpful in opening doors to other ways and means of discovering not only your past, but groups you can join and support available to those who share your DNA background. The cost is very reasonable and really, how can you put a price on the rewards of knowing who you really are.
The Cherokee DNA test is an unusual, well-presented product. It delivers what it promises in accuracy, speed of execution, and convenience. The Cherokee Match certificate is bound to please a certain segment of purchasers. It’s a great gift for someone who has everything, and important for anyone digging seriously into their genealogy. It was clever of DNA Consultants to isolate Cherokee and other Native American markers and design a test that can select out this special ethnicity. I have heard that Native American DNA tends to “wash out” and not register in general population DNA tests so the test plays its part in preserving knowledge of Cherokee lineage. One addition that would enhance the product might be to take the top five statistically significant Native American groups that flank the Cherokee DNA and highlight them.
The kit arrived fast, was as described. The product provided was detailed with easy steps to follow and the return package had postage paid. The lab results provided were simple and easy to understand, also contact telephone numbers and e mail address are provided in case you have any questions. I was told by my Grandmother that she was Cherokee, and my father was Irish and Italian. The results arrived and I was pleasantly surprised to find that in my top genetic makeup was Cherokee as well as Salishan (totem pole builders ) from British Columbia. Also the European and eastern makeup makes sense. If you want to know who you are, and where you come from, DNA Consultants are the way to go!
