More Warnings about AI from Nature Magazine

According to a Nature study from earlier this year, “AI might make it easier to do science while, at the same time, narrowing the questions and styles of reasoning that are collectively pursued.” The result may be a diffuse state of mediocre science and ignorance everywhere, a monoculture that cannnot ever be corrected. In other words, we may be approaching a standstill or decline in knowledge similar to the decay of civilization at the fall of the Roman Empire.

In 450 C.E., there were few works of originality produced in the Mediterranean region but many derivative handbooks, collections and summaries. The epic works of many Roman writers, such as Livy and Lucretius, barely survived this era of “vulgarization.” Some extremely valuable literary and scientific writings of antiquity are now only known from excerpts in compilations. Of the 142 books of Livy’s history of Rome, only 35 made the transition from late antiquity to the Middle Ages. The Emperor Claudius’ 20-book history of the Etruscans perished entirely. Today we cannot even decipher the scraps of Etruscan language preserved on tombs and vases. The Etruscan language is simply unknown to us.

Because of growing concerns about AI, DNA Consultants has endorsed the following “No AI” position.

No AI Statement

For the website: DNA Consultants

This certifies that the content you are consuming has been created without the use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI).

In an age where AI is rapidly dominating online content creation, it can be challenging to determine whether the texts, artworks, codes, and films we consume come from a human mind or an artificial one.

The creative products of other persons are at the core of what makes us human – the very heart of our shared and individual culture, values, and ideals.

No matter how quickly AI can spew out regurgitated content, it cannot replicate the human connection.

This statement removes any doubt on whether the content you are or have consumed was created by another human being. Now you too can confidently enjoy the human connection.
