The Berber ethnic group known as the Mozabites live in five oasis towns situated far south of Algiers. Their desert home is considered to be one of the hottest places in the world.

The Algerian Mozabites population data represent DNA samples from 88 individuals living in the oasis region of Ghardaïa, in Algeria (Ghardaïa). Samples were obtained by the Evolutionary Biology Research Unit of the Health and Life Sciences Faculty at the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. For more details on this population, see Mozabite People; Berber PeopleM’zab; Enduring Culture of the Mozabites, and Algeria.
