Western Asian Americans are people identifying or identified as Asian sampled in the western United States. Judge Herbert Choy from Hawaii was the first Asian American to serve as a United States federal judge.
The Asian – Western U.S. population data represent DNA samples from 108 Asian-American individuals in the Western United States. Samples were provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations and the Virginia Division of Forensic Science.
