 Melungeon Match

Our unique Melungeon sample became the first population to be added to our new computer program atDNA, which contains the database used for the DNA Fingerprint Test. Now find out how high a match you have for Melungeon ancestry. If you have already obtained your results for the DNA Fingerprint Test, there is no need to be resampled or retested. Simply order the Melungeon Match and we will send you your top 50 matches. If you have Melungeon ancestry, Melungeon (n=40) will be at or near the top.

Check out the posts on the Melungeon Forum at DNA Communities to see how the 40 participants in the Melungeon DNA study scored. Many had Melungeon (n=40) as their No. 1 population match. That is outstanding validation for the original sample and the conclusions reached in the study published in Appalachian Journal:

I wanted to tell you how helpful your test has been. Because of DNA Consultants, 23andme and FTDNA, I am finding family in surprising places. I knew my ancestry was European, and DNA Consultants accurately predicted Jewish and one parent Native American.
Well... I never knew I could trace my family to Colonial Appalachia. I could not figure out why so many cousins were coming in from Tennessee, North Carolina, Alabama and Virginia. I am a Yankee after all! However, the answer was in my family records the whole
time. It is just that I was looking at political instead of geographical boundaries. I believe you are trying to identify the Melungeons. (I follow your writings.) I think I might be one, so if you need any participants for future research, please keep me
on your list.
