What information does DNA Consultants collect and how is it used?

DNA Consultants may collect any or all of the following four types of information: (a) traffic or “clickstream” data, (b) cookies, (c) pixel tags, and (d) contact information and other personally identifying information. DNA Consultants's collection and use of each type of data is described below, as well as the ways (if any) in which the data may be shared with third parties.

(a) Traffic or Clickstream Data. Clickstream data does not contain any personally identifying information. DNA Consultants may share clickstream data with certain selected third parties, but only in aggregated, anonymous form. For example, we may tell an advertiser that a certain number of people visited a certain area of our website or searched other websites for the phrase "origin of surnames." DNA Consultants collects some information regarding use of the Services by monitoring browser functions and files accessed by users. For example, DNA Consultants's server collects information about the websites from which users entered our website to enable us to determine the most frequently searched terms. This helps us provide users with the most relevant search results. It also provides us with information we can use to check for fraudulent behavior or other abnormalities and to ensure that our Services are technically superior. DNA Consultants also uses clickstream data in aggregate form to improve the design and functioning of its Services.

(b) Cookies. Like many sites, DNA Consultants collects information about online behavior using cookies. The information contained within cookies provides us with an anonymous way to monitor how we are doing and to look for ways to improve our Services. DNA Consultants uses cookies to fulfill users’ requests for products and services and to improve our services. Cookies allow us to deliver a better and more personalized service by identifying users making return visits as well as identifying which sites our repeat visitors are coming from, so that we can place more advertising on these sites. The cookies we use contain identification information that enables us to see how our users are interacting with our site and how frequently they are returning, as well as to streamline their experiences using the Services. Our cookies also let us know if we are delivering quality products and services. The cookies we use do not contain any personally identifiable information.

If you set your browser software to reject cookies, you may not be able to use all of the features of the Services.

Our third-party advertisers may place or recognize a unique "cookie" on your browser if you click on their advertisements.

(c) Pixel Tags. DNA Consultants shares website usage information about visitors to our website with reputable third-party advertisers for the purpose of targeting and measuring the effectiveness of our Internet advertisements. For this purpose, DNA Consultants and our third-party advertising companies monitor some of the pages you visit on our website through the use of pixel tags (also called clear gifs and web beacons).

The information collected by DNA Consultants and our third-party advertising companies through the use of these pixel tags does not contain personally identifiable information. For more information about our third-party advertisers, including instructions on how to opt-out of their targeting programs, please e-mail us at privacy@dnaconsultants.com.

DNA Consultants also works with Yahoo! and other search engine companies to research advertising effectiveness of our web site. These search engines use pixel tags to conduct this research on our behalf. The information collected through these pixel tags is used for advertising reporting and analysis and to improve the effectiveness of our marketing efforts. Information recorded through the use of these pixel tags is aggregated by the search engines and then shared with us; the aggregate information contains no personally identifiable information You may choose to opt-out of providing this information. For instructions on how to do so, please e-mail us at privacy@dnaconsultants.com.
