White – California ǀ North American White ǀ European American
White Californians are people identifying themselves as white or primarily Caucasian or European ancestry sampled in the state of California. According to the 2010 U.S. Census Bureau, 57.6% of California residents identified themselves as White. Of these, 9.8% were German, 7.8% Irish, 6.9% English and 4.3% Italian. With regard to demographics, California has the largest population of White Americans in the U.S.
The White – California population data represent DNA samples from 75 Caucasian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_American) individuals in the state of California. Samples were provided by the California Department of Justice, the Orange County (Calif.) Sheriff-Coroner Crime Laboratory, and the Oregon State Police.
